Off-Duty Model Style at MBFWA

Model Fashion and Style Choices

From the runway to the front row, the offerings in womens fashion were plentiful during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney.

Even with all the meticulously planned street style get-ups and the designer collections on show, it was impossible to ignore the models’ styling choices. We’re talking about the times in between their attendance on the runway, their fittings, their hair and make-up and media calls.

Whether they were rocking a super laid-back ensemble or a polished look head-to-toe, the models regularly surprise us with their chic take on womens fashion.

Check out some of the coolest off-duty style ‘grams from the week.

Nothing makes street style photographers spring into action quite like an off-duty model couple exiting a show. Does anyone care if they’re actually an item or not? No, not even slightly. Bonus points if they’ve coordinated their outfits.

Models embracing runway trends in their off-duty style can often mean they’ve just been gifted some goodies backstage. Some in womens fashion may view this as disingenuous. The rest of us love seeing how they immediately incorporate their new acquisitions with whatever clothing they already have on hand.

Model besties hanging out between shows? Absolute street style dynamite.

Bigger industry names and model guests tend to dress less casually. It’s possibly because they’re not trying to cram an impossible amount of fittings into their lunch break. The womens fashion trend for bright block colours was  huge during the week.  It was hard not to notice that many of the models were rocking bold hues off the runway as well as on. Not surprisingly, this was confirmed on Insta!

Models can always rock that laid back womens fashion look.  How? An element of edginess via a leather jacket or badass sunnies is definitely an off-duty model staple.

Let’s not forget those who make a simple, unironed t-shirt or singlet and jean combination look like the height of womens fashion. Seriously, how?
