There were audible gasps. Women were enraptured. No wonder the two runway showings by Adelaide’s home grown couture label Paolo Sebastian were sold out at the Adelaide Fashion Festival. They were breathtaking.
Designer Paul Vasileff presented his Spring/Summer 17 couture collection on an unlit grass runway dotted with clumps of lily of the valley, forget-me-nots and dandelions. All this against a meadow backdrop. Aptly named, his new Wildflowers collection opened by international Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha was as much soft summer breeze as it was a breath of fresh air. As you watched his designs float past, you could almost smell floral scents wafting on summer breezes.
Paolo Sebastian’s Wildflowers collection was met with a capacity audience showing their appreciation with a long, standing ovation.
We managed to get up-close to the gowns and the models wearing them. We’re delighted to share our snapshot of some of the detail of this latest Paolo Sebastian range so you can see why they press all the right buttons in the world of couture. Photos by Dimitra Koriozos.
