Take A Walk on the Style Side

…to the Top Fashion Boutiques in Adelaide

We took a walk with stylist Lauren Dilena along Adelaide’s NOW strip for top fashion boutiques in Adelaide, Rundle Street East, to catch the latest drops from Australia’s best known and loved fashion brands. With Lauren selecting edgy combinations from the best of the best, all located along Adelaide’s most trendy shopping locale, we knew we couldn’t go wrong in taking in her style tips for this season’s most fashion forward looks.

Says Lauren: “There’s nothing better than shopping in person. There’s no way you can experience the true beauty of fabrics without touching, feeling and viewing them up close and personal. Feeling the drape, weight, scale, breathability, durability and the quality of construction… cannot be replicated online. The in-store experience with personal stylists and assistants all make you feel valued.”

“Cowboy boots are back and bigger than ever and this fab trend is for those who want the boots to do all the talking… and the walking. Create a bold look paired back with crochet, matching sets and of course we can’t go past a denim on denim look. However most recently we’ve seen celebs opting to wear them in a more “off duty, minimal and everyday look” opposed to the more occasion or festival look that we’re used to.”

“Like many vintage trends, double denim has made a comeback. Love or hate it, this nostalgic statement look is giving a fresh, brighter and fun approach to how the majority are styling. My Number 1 Rule when dressing double denim is to pick two accessories to be your stand out statement piece to enhance your look and make it individual to yourself. Just make sure you have enough distance between them. For example, they could be earrings and bag or, shoes and necklace.”

Matching Co-ord Sets

“My top fashion tip for those who love trends this season would be to invest in co-ord sets. We’ve seen how strong matching twin-sets have been this last summer and I feel we’ll be continuing to see this style for some time yet. Look for oversized & relaxed pieces, which can come in handy to layer warmer pieces underneath for the following winter season ahead.”

“Winter whites are always a great idea to refresh and enhance your look. Before you leave the house make sure you look at your entire look head-to-toe especially when layering. This will allow you to adjust your clothing appropriately to work in with your proportions. If something doesn’t feel right, try cuffing the sleeves on your shirts and jackets or look at your footwear to make sure it’s suitable and practical.”

“One of the favourite trends this season is sheer fabrics and we can’t seem to get enough of it. This strong 90s revival influence is trending all over our runways and now into our mainstream stores, in garments; skirts, tops, dresses and even extending into our accessories like gloves & socks. Now we finally can start to say goodbye to the cut-out styles and say hello to sheer soft fabrics, like mesh, chiffon and tulle.”
