Street Style Trends From Copenhagen Fashion Week

What’s  Trending in Copenhagen

With Copenhagen Fashion Week having just wrapped up, we’ve got plenty of street style inspiration for the coming spring down under. The Danish capital is often associated with minimalism and parred back looks. This time though, the fashion set have given us a wide variety to feast our eyes on. Many of them are turning out to be global on-trend favourites.  Check it out.

Cowboy Boots

Paired with feminine dresses and floral prints, cowboy boots were the standout footwear choice. The perfect way to incorporate an edge into an otherwise safe and simple look, these boots are definitely made for walking.

Animal Print

By the looks of it, the animal print trend isn’t going away anytime soon. Snake-skin textures and wild print adorned the handbags, heels and high waists of fashionistas throughout the entirety of the week.

Punchy Graphics

When you think of Scandinavian style, loud, graphic prints probably aren’t the first thing that comes to mind. Fashion Week attendees in Copenhagen weren’t playing by the rules, though – they were out in full force, rocking bold high-end streetwear as they posed for the cameras.

With so many of the same cult designer handbags taking over the street style scene at fashion weeks the world over, it was refreshing to note just how many simple tote bags were the arm candy of choice for Danish showgoers. Effortless, casual, cool.

Local RadarLocal Street Style

On the local scene, Melbournites are staying loyal to their all black everything aesthetic. Hey, it’s a classic for a reason. Meanwhile, on Sydney streets metallic knits and accessories are jazzing up casual day wear as the weather ever so slowly warms up.

Describe your style in three words: Jeans. T-shirts. Twinsets.

Trend you can’t stop spotting? Expensive athleisure wear.

Any trend predictions for the coming season? The Dior monogram book tote bag, wide leg pants and colour blocked suits that sit on the baggy side.

Style tip for trans-seasonal weather? A great collection of coats and jackets can change any simple base of jeans and a tee.

Street Stylers to Check Out

Balancing a Commerce/Law degree with her blogging duties, Aussie street styler Jessica Alizzi is quickly rising through the Instagram ranks with her romantic, Parisian-inspired style.

There’s never a dull moment on the feed of Kurt Ji, aka @bloggers_boyfriend. Jetsetting around in the latest luxury goods is one thing, but capturing them with amazing photography and creative direction adds a whole other layer of interest.

See you next week, Revolutionaries!
