Alf The Label Goes Circular for Charity

Dress for Success to Benefit

Australian designer and social entrepreneur, Sophie Doyle, is giving back to the community with every bag she sells. For every Luxe Sue handbag sold through the Alf the Label’s online store, the designer will donate $100 to Dress for Success. DFS is a not-for-profit organisation that supports disadvantaged women re-entering the workforce by providing them with career development tools, training and corporate attire.

This new campaign with Alf the Label is in addition to the brand’s ongoing charity partnership with DFS. That partnership sees a portion of sales donated to the charity from every sale. The new campaign is a unique circular fashion exchange, where where people can donate any brand’s pre-loved bag back to Alf in exchange for up to $100 to spend with the brand. Alf then re-purposes the pre-loved bags and donates them to Dress for Success.

Donating a third of the sales from each Luxe Sue bag, featured in the image below, Alf the Label will be contributing to the range of programs and services offered at Dress for Success. The donations will go directly to the DFS branch closest to the Alf customer purchasing the bag, and will support that customer’s local community of women re-entering the workforce.

Sophie Doyle, Founder and Creative Director of Alf the Label, says, “As a working parent myself, Dress for Success’s cause is close to my heart. As we offer products primarily for women who are transitioning between being a parent and the workforce, I am incredibly passionate about giving back to a charity who directly support women and children in need.”

More than three quarters of the women who complete DFS’s workplace development program are employed within three months, and eighty per cent of participants achieve some form of financial stability by the end of the program.

The limited-edition Luxe Sue handbag retails for $299.95 AUD, with $100 of this being donated to Dress for Success. It is an elevated evolution of the ever-popular hobo handbag silhouette, designed with everyday organisation in mind. From work tote to crossbody weekender, or baby bag. Crafted in high-quality, full grain pebbled leather with custom brushed gold hardware, Sue features a shorter shoulder strap with padded hand-feel, alongside an additional detachable, adjustable leather crossbody strap with gold alloy accents along the length.
