Showcase of the Latest Fashion
at SA Fashion Weekend
Get set for the biggest fashion celebration of the year when SAFIA (South Australian Fashion Industry Association) presents the SA Fashion Weekend on Saturday 25 March. Around 50 fashion and accessories labels will be on show.
Set on the grounds of the newly redeveloped Adelaide Plaza, the SA Fashion Weekend is a celebration of all things fashion in South Australia. The industry contributes $218million to the state economy and employs 2,570 full time employees, excluding fashion retailing. With over 1,000 businesses involved in fashion, there’s every reason for South Australians to celebrate the “creative” State.
Gates open at 4.45 on Saturday evening and ticket holders will receive a free drink on arrival. A DJ will rock the plaza with a party atmosphere while food and VW drink vans will be stationed around the venue. Street style photographers will be mingling with the crowd snapping all the great style around on the night. To top it off, there’ll be some of the best little collection of surprises in the gift bags that we’ve ever seen, courtesy of some amazing South Australian businesses who will be acknowledged on the night!
The first runway of the night, EMERGE, kicks off at 5.30pm. An exciting line-up of newly emerging and lifestyle fashion labels has been announced. It includes selected TAFE SA graduates presenting some of their latest creative works. Over 15 designer collections will be on show. Expect to see: Jutho, Fikah the Label, Scarlett Bird, Peloponnese the Label, Closet Mod, Helene Kailis, Roseé, Nowa the Label, Kira Bayliss Clothing, Jo Madi Active, Jupiter’s Heart, Andorwith, Josephine-Rose Collection and Ryderwear. A selection of TAFE SA fashion graduates will also present. And more!
Runway 2, SUSTAIN, commencing at 7.15pm will host some of the most exciting brands operating in disruptive fashion, taking care to protect the planet and people working in he industry through all stages of production through to sales and packaging. Added to the line-up will also be a number of local brands. The line-up includes: autark, Sunset Lover, Peloponnese the Label, Phoebe Hunter, Jutho, Hab Clothing, Solomon St, Lanamara, Jagger Sleepwear, House of Campbell, Shannon Blyth, Yarrabah Arts , Elverina Johnson, Lakun Mara, Yudu, Mimi and Coco and House of Taylor Collective. Also featured will be Flinders Graduate Ella Bowen whose Not a Sustainable Collection, is completely made from recycled waste including plastic bags.
The headline runway, MOMENT, commencing at 8.45pm will showcase no less than 21 designers’ latest collections. It’s an opportunity to see some of the biggest brand names coming out of Adelaide. The line-up includes Acler, Significant Other, Ryderwear, Old Sport, Tiff Manuell, Daisy Says the Label, The Wolf Gang, Keepsake the Label, House of Campbell, Valente the Label, Brave + True the Label, Kinney the Label, Katya Komarova, Nowa, FORTHEFEW, C/MEO Collective, Luminous Assembly, Stuff by Glad, Love of Clogs, Serafina and Sunset Lover.
A range of local jewellery labels will also feature on the SUSTAIN runway.
Aiming to be inclusive there’s set to be a more diverse selection of models and people attending. Ticket holders will go into the draw to win Tiff Manuell bags. Tickets are still available at Trybooking.
