Men’s Style and Fashion
Amazing is not a word often associated with men’s style and fashion in Australia. “Conservative” more likely. However, in our latest fashion shoot with your top-voted style favourite, Nixon Sola, Westfield stylist Lauren Dilena upped the ante with a selection of menswear to inspire. Not overly flash, but definitely eye catching and very, very stylish, Lauren put three looks in men’s clothing together for Nixon to model.
When we photographed 26 year old Nixon Sola outside the Labels Style Markets in Adelaide, we had no idea the stylist and couturist had a strong design pedigree. As he tells it, his immediate family all work in fashion and design – both parents, his brother in Melbourne and his sister, who has just completed her design course in France. Even his grandparents on both sides worked in the industry and Nixon’s uncle worked for Chanel and Givenchy.
Speaker of 7 languages, we caught up with Marseilles born Nixon, who has lived in Australia for five years, just before he jetted out to style a wedding in Norway. Yes, he also speaks Norwegian.
Modelling for Westfield Marion, Nixon was styled by Westfield’s South Australian Senior Stylist Lauren Dilena who decided on a refreshingly Aussie look for the normally suit-clad Nixon.
All four looks were put together by Lauren, sourced from Westfield Marion stores and project what guys will be wearing in the summer months ahead, from casual denims to a head-turning three piece suit with accessories to “finish” Nixon’s look. Not only that, but Nixon was given a $250 voucher from Westfield to buy whatever he wanted of the looks he’d been styled in! Not a bad reward for simply having been spotted in the street by one of our roving street style photographers!
