Melbourne Street Style
When it comes to Australian style, look no further than COCKTAIL REVOLUTION, documenting the best of Melbourne Street style and ranked as the world’s #3 street fashion blog.
Australia’s only national street style magazine, our photographers have been pounding city streets since 2012. They’ve been shooting the snappiest outfits, the quirkiest style and the most original looks you’ll find anywhere in the country.
From the plazas of the biggest fashion festivals in the country, to the back lanes on the other side of town, COCKTAIL REVOLUTION is capturing all the diversity in city streets that you didn’t know was out there. We cover it all. From high end style to grunge, the most authentic looks you’ll never see anywhere else are all here.
From Perth to Adelaide, Melbourne to Sydney, Brisbane and occasionally from the top end too, Cocktail Revolution has published a regular weekly street style gallery on the dot, since October 2012. On hold since Covid first took hold in March 2020, we’re now devising new ways to capture the looks that young Aussies put together when they leave their front door.
What sets COCKTAIL REVOLUTION apart is our devotion to street style. Australia is relatively new to the phenomenon of photographers capturing their style in the street, but warmly embracing our friendly and very professional shutterbugs. The real, diverse faces of Australia are captured in our pages and have been since we started in 2012. Reflecting the style, originality and faces of Australia goes hand-in-hand with capturing all genders, ethnicities, body shapes and sizes and abilities.
We document what EVERYONE is wearing, not just the same old celebrity faces favoured in mainstream media. Of course, we devote a lot of space to Melbourne Street style, where consumers share a boldness for stepping out that might not be seen so often in other capital cities. While its debatable which city is Australia’s fashion capital, you can see from our thousands of images that Melbourne street style is the nations best.
That doesn’t mean that it’s not worth capturing what people are wearing in other cities! It just means that there’s more diversity and originality, boldness and in-your-face style than some other places. Actually, Melbourne street style favours black and that’s something that’s incredibly hard to capture in photography. Textures, patterns and cut can all be lost in a photo that shows black on black. That’s why we make sure we’re capturing not only the best of Melbourne street style, but what’s happening in the rest of the country too!
