Charity T-Shirts: The New Wardrobe Staple

 Fundraiser Tees

In these trying times, charity t-shirts are fast becoming wardrobe essentials with a difference.

For some brands, giving back is part of their DNA. Others are spurred on by an environmental crisis that hits close to home. Whatever the reason, a number of designers are embracing the humble tee as a way to donate to causes close to their hearts.

Here are five Aussie fashion labels giving back through feel-good fashion.

KITX has been at the forefront of sustainable Australian fashion since 2015. Their range of ‘activism tees’ are super wearable, especially if you’re a fan of vintage rock shirts. A percentage from each activism tee is donated to the charity behind each catchcry. Namely, the Climate Council, Carbon Neutral and Save the Bees. Rep slogans like ‘SAVE THE BEES’ and ‘DEFENDERS OF THE EARTH’ while raising awareness on major eco issues.

Sustainable fashion label SISTA ÖF JAC believes that beautiful clothing doesn’t need to cost the earth. Their best selling SAVE REEF charity t-shirts are the perfect wardrobe piece for eco-conscious fashionistas with a minimalist style. With 50% of each sale going toward the Reef Restoration Foundation, this is an off-duty essential that makes a statement and helps to give back.

Yhi Creations

Yhi creations by Ella Noah Bancroft sell a range of charity t-shirts. You can’t miss these eye catching statement tees. We love the ‘Decolonise to Thrive’ shirt, with 25% going toward The Returning – a not for profit event focused on community empowerment.

It’s Year SOS, according to Sydney based label macgraw.  The sister design duo is raising awareness and much-needed funds for the communities across Australia that have been ravaged by bushfires. 100% of the profits from sales get divided equally across donations to NSW Rural Fire Service, Wires Wildlife Rescue and Country Women’s Association disaster relief.

Designer faves Zimmermann are currently selling two variations of their ‘help the koala’ tee. 100% of proceeds from each t-shirt sold will be donated to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. Both designs bring psychedelic nostalgia vibes – perfect for your summer uniform.
