VAMFF First
From the street style to the seminars, there’s already so much to look forward to at Melbourne’s premier fashion festival each year. Throw a waste-free, carbon-neutral night of fashion fun in the mix and things get even more exciting during VAMFF 2020.That’s what’s on offer in a VAMFF first when sustainable fashion label A.BCH presents a solo showcase in collaboration with Watch This Space, Duval Agency and Bob Hair Co.
Taking place in Collingwood on March 9, Future Classic is an immersive experience that will explore the future of fashion and the issue of waste in the industry. Hosting more than just an eye-opening event, the circular label will present its AW20 collection and unveil a world-first fabric.
What will the future of fashion be? This runway show with a twist might just show us.
We interviewed the brand’s designer Courtney Holm in 2019 to gain insight into the world of ethical and sustainable design. Her passion for a more ethical fashion future was clear.
“The current system is a mess. I couldn’t bear to be a part of that mess unless I was doing something radically different to change it. This is why A.BCH exists. I want to help people see past the greenwashing and learn how to consume less, and when they do buy new, to buy smarter. Without this mission, we would just be adding to the noise. We want to cut through that.”
