Next Generation of Australian Designers
With just under two months left until Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, four Australian designers have been selected to showcase their work in the coveted St. George NextGen runway during the country’s leading fashion event.
Enlisting a panel of industry experts to support and mentor emerging fashion designers, the St. George NextGen program allows a new wave of Australian design to reach a global audience and gain invaluable industry knowledge along the way.
Get to know the four finalists…
CHLOE MOTTAU, NSW
Hailing from Sydney and with studies at the University of Technology under her belt, Chloe Mottau’s designs explore tension and harmony through hand-woven textiles.
MADISON HISLOP, NSW
With an emphasis on storytelling through design and an underpinning ethos of ‘quality before quantity’, Madison Hislop’s brand explores the strength and sensitivity of women’s character. Hislop also studied at the University of Technology.
BENJAMIN GARG, VIC
Paying homage to the beauty and artistic expressions of his homework of Punjab in India, RMIT alumni Benjamin Garg’s designs offer a unique take on colour and silhouette.
BRIAN HUYNH, VIC
Based in Melbourne, Brian Huynh’s label Mndatory draws from principles of architecture to put a new spin on classic men’s outerwear silhouettes. Huynh studied at White House Institute of Design.
