Vogue Festival
Vogue Festival returned to Adelaide last week, bringing with it a jam-packed lineup of fashion and style events across the city. Adelaide’s stylish East End played host to some of the most exciting events on the festival schedule, including talks by Paul Vasileff of Paolo Sebastian and a pop-up street party under the stars in Ebenezer Place. What better time or place to check out all the style and fashion trends?
Naturally, we took to people watching throughout the East End festivities, one of our favourite stomping grounds, snapping the style and fashion trends we spotted on Adelaide’s fashion lovers. Street party goers and East End retail staff alike sported surprisingly laid-back takes on classic trends, adding to the relaxed party atmosphere.

Street Style Trends
Sequinned
In true fashion festival spirit, there was a touch of glam mixed in with the minimal. Sequinned pieces elevate even the simplest ensembles and make for the perfect street party – and DJ – style.
Monochromatic
For all the dazzling fashion on display in stores and parades throughout Vogue Festival, many who turned up opted for a stylishly minimal approach to colour. You don’t need to be a Melburnian to appreciate the timeless appeal of black on black!
Graphic Prints
How to add a little extra oomph to a monochromatic look? Get graphic. Adelaide’s menswear enthusiasts brought their A-game to the pop-up party, with elevated casuals via bold graphics.
Colour Blocking
Naturally, there were some who dared to deviate from a minimal colour palette. Their colour-blocked ensembles stood out against the red brick laneway of Ebenezer Place. Those opting for colour blocking also favoured bright hues.
Staff Style Trends
Miss Gladys Sym Choon
The ever eclectic bunch at legendary Miss Gladys Sym Choon never let us down when it comes to personal style. We have to admit to doing a double-take when we spotted clashing vertical and horizontal stripes and a playful approach to a classic trend.
Flannel
A recent addition to the Rundle Street East shopping experience, womenswear store Flannel is airy, chic and elegant in style – with a fashion offering to match. Staff were rocking clean lines in loosely fitted silhouettes perfect for summer. These Flannel fashionistas were pairing tailored collars with casual, faux-fur trimmed loafers. Simplicity at its best.
Jack London
Staff at menswear store Jack London rocked the classic tailoring and slight rock n’ roll edge typical of the brand. This casual but polished approach was a hugely favourite style and fashion trend with party goers as well as staff.
