Street Style Trends For September

September Style

There is so much fun style peppering the streets here and abroad of late. So with Spring upon us in a mere few days, we’ve summarised some of the hottest trends doing the rounds. Take note – these are bound to be staples for your September style.

Snakeskin

Is snakeskin the new leopard print? Accessories and key pieces covered in faux-snakeskin were occasional spotlight stealers at fashion weeks earlier in the year, but now we’re spotting them left, right and centre.

Camouflage

Just when you thought camouflage printed garms were gone for good, they come out to play in a re-imagined style. Camo is usually associated with streetwear rather than classic luxury but, from what we’ve seen, sophistication and camouflage could be the latest match made in heaven.

Plastic Fantastic

Clear plastic bags continue to be the it-bag du jour this year, and styles continue to get more playful and experimental. Coloured, transparent plastic satchels and totes are injecting some child-like fun into the handbag scene.

The Bucket Hat

Yup, this headwear trend is still going strong. The bucket hat seems to be the go-to accessory for the off-duty male model, and we can totally see this youthful trend taking off down under as the sun comes out to play.

Trans-seasonal style can be tricky during unpredictable weather – so this trend is the perfect way to be prepared without feeling over-encumbered. For when it’s too hot to rock a jacket over your shoulders, but not quite hot enough to leave that extra layer behind, wrapping a jumper across your torso might just be your next move.

Local Radar

Local Australian Street StyleAussie street stylers are rocking the ultimate trans-seasonal look. Can wintery boots and long sleeves work with summer shades and a sundress? The answer is yes.

Describe your style in three words: Effortless. Structural. Experimental.

Trend you can’t stop spotting? Monochrome and utilitarian style. Also seeing outrageous trainers everywhere (ie Balenciaga’s Triple S trainers) – I couldn’t pull them off, but props to those who can!

Any trend predictions for the coming season? I think we’ll start to see a lot more monochromatic looks, as well as wardrobe staples being revamped with a focus on detailing and trimmings.

Style tip for trans-seasonal weather? Lightweight Merino wool jumpers – saves me every time! I love this fabric bc it’s deliciously soft and keeps you warm enough without making you sweltering in it.
