Gala Red Carpet Event
The Perth Fashion Festival season has launched with a bang! The first of 6, weekly, red carpet affairs to precede the festival runways that will be held during 12-14 September, was held last Thursday at Raine Square in the city.
TV presenter and journo Rebecca Johns hosted the night, and after guests were welcomed by Local Member John Carey, DJ Calire O’Shea from House of FADJ set the vibe. A brilliantly curated runway of Empire Rose designs was warmly received by an appreciative crowd, and the designs were then made available to members of the public to view for free on the ground floor. Following the parade, guests were treated to a screening in the Palace Nova Cinema, of cutting-edge documentary Jean Paul Gaultier: Freak & Chic. The crowd LOVED it! Make no mistake – this was a fashion gala event of the best kind. The Perth fashion set turned out in their finest and if you weren’t there, you truly missed out.
Each Thursday until 5 September, the Perth Fashion Festival will continue with its celluloid celebration of fashion at Raine Square, considered by many to be the heart of luxury fashion in Perth’s CBD. So great was the atmosphere at the gala, that if it’s possible, we’d expect even more people to show up at the next one!
The red carpet and film program continues with:
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Hosted by fashionista Melissa Graham, with Tiffany’s themed surprises!
Celebration: Yves Saint Laurent
Hosted by fashion maven Olivia Vlachou, with live fashion illustrations by Mekel Illustrations.
The September Issue
Hosted by fashion and media doyenne Di Bauwens, with personalised Vogue Magazine Covers via a fun photobooth.
Hosted by style queen Katerina Janceska, with a touch of vintage-class dress theme and a pop-up gallery exhibition.
Sex and The City
Hosted by Pieta Sharpe from Perth Happenings with DJ Kylie Pearsall from House of FADJ. Guests are encouraged to wear their best SATC outfits for photo booth fun, with prizes for best dressed.
