Adam Heath Boutique
The Perth Fashion Festival is known for putting on a spectacle and the Adam Heath runway was exactly that. This was Day 2 of the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival. It played to a packed audience of fashion lovers who enjoyed what was essentially a fashion retrospective.
Paying homage to the designers and trends who dressed our mothers and grandmothers in the fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties all the way to the present day, this was an outstanding showcase of vintage fashion plus modern trends. There was something for everyone. It’s no wonder this runway was sold out, playing to a packed audiences.
This was how Adam Heath, a Western Australian multi-brand luxury fashion retailer since 1966, celebrated 50 years in fashion! This was no ordinary runway. It was, put simply, a brilliant runway retrospective of Australian fashion. With matching hair-styles, make up, accessories, music from each era and backdrops to match, was as evocative as it was entertaining. Models strutted the catwalk to the sounds of the Easy Beats, Daddy Cool and The Seekers.
Past designers included Norman Tullo, Prue Acton, Jenny Kee, Ruth Tarvydas, George Gross, Trent Nathan and Collette Dinnigan. If you don’t know some of these names, you need to. They are some of the biggest and most influential names in Australian fashion. No longer manufactured, garments by these designers are of such high quality that they are still being worn today.
Designers from the current era were also featured. These included Camilla, Akira and Dion Lee.
The audience, enthusiastic throughout the show, clapped and cheered when it was over. Here’s a snapshot : Adam Heath – 50 Years of Fashion and Music.
