Micky in the Van Launch
Melbourne designer Estelle Michaelides unveiled her newest Micky in the Van range last week with an engaging “performance” launch. Dressing and re-dressing her models in front of invited guests, Estelle explained the what and how of her design process, from inspiration to styling the finished garment. The new range was made entirely in Melbourne by the Social Studio, a not-for-proft that provides employment and job skills to Australians who started their lives here as refugees. Ending on a high, guests were invited at the end of the launch to write messages on a kimono being worn by the model. Photographer Zoe Kostopoulos was there to catch it all, from the arrivals to guests signing the kimono.
