Just ten months on from their debut on major Australian online retailer The Iconic, Aussie mens swimwear label Vacay is now stocked on Asia’s leading fashion website, Zalora.
Zalora is the top online fashion retailer across Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines and Indonesia – amassing a whopping 41 million monthly visits. Not a bad outcome for two guys from Adelaide who hatched their plan to start a label while sitting on a beach in Mykonos!
Co-founders Corey Decandia and Jordan Kallios describe their mens swimwear line as ‘swim and resort wear for the travelling man’. They draw inspiration from European style and their own personal travels. With such a huge amount of women’s swimwear labels on the market today, the smaller offering available for men was puzzling to the two. Seeing an opportunity to bring a more eclectic range of swim wear to fashion conscious men across the world, Vacay Swimwear was born in 2016.
The design diversity of the label is also to thank for their seamless transition into the Asian market.
“Zalora is lacking in men’s assortment of male swim and resort wear and Vacay Swimwear can fill that gap. The designs are fresh, young and have a contemporary twist that definitely caters to our market segment,” says Muhammad Zaim Jahasnum, Brand Acquisition Manager for Zalora.
The designs are all about going from the beach to the bar with confidence. Beginning with swimwear before branching into resort offerings too, Kallios says the expansion of the label was a no brainer.
“Expanding into resort wear was a natural progression for our brand – with our new black or white linen shirts and caps, you can be decked out in head-to-toe Vacay for a stylish, effortless look.”
