Hot Trends – Street Style
We’re all about what YOU are wearing to the runway. Here’s what we spotted as the hot trends, off-runway, from the Adelaide Fashion Festival.
All-White
This white=hot trend had heads turning. Teamed with a black shoulder bag, think Gucci, Chanel, clutch or shoulder-worn back-pack-like for stand out style.
Black and White
Monochrome looks are back big time. – White tops, blazers, skirts and pants – denim or silks, teamed with stripes or polkas, or teamed with a leather jacket.
Fluffy Jackets
Faux or no, we’re not entirely sure but soft coloured or beige jackets and coats ruled during cooler evenings.
Leathers
Enduring and stylish, black leather dominated in bags, skirts, biker jackets et al.
Florals
A sea of applique and printed floral made the AFF marquee look almost like a moving garden of fresh spring flowers.
The Black Bag
There was plenty of eye-candy for bag-lovers to spot, but the absolute favourite bag trend was for black leather shoulder bags. Clutch and bucket bags hit the mark too, but the black shoulder bag dominated as the perfect colour contrast for those wearing the all-white look, florals, or just about anything else!
Big
Big sleeves, big wide pant legs, big fluffy jackets, big-wide layers, large belts and belt buckles, huge lapels and oversized bomber jackets – save for smaller bags, the trend to big is unrelenting.
Red
More than a drift, red was out in force, both in clothing – whether in florals or blocks – and accessories, for both men and women.
GFashCollective
Finally, we couldn’t honestly complete this trend report without mentioning GFashCollective. He’s one hot trend in himself. He travelled to the fashion festival from Melbourne and he embodied every eye-catching trend, every day. His name is Grant and his handle is @gfashcollective.
