Flannel & One Fell Swoop – Telstra Perth Fashion Festival

Modern, Minimal & Feminine

Two of Perth’s top designers, FLANNEL and One Fell Swoop, showcased their latest collections in an amazing runway at TPFF.

Tailoring, drapery and minimalism combined on the runway with modern feminine silhouettes. FLANNEL  designer Kristy Lawrence said her collection took inspiration from the sights and sounds of the Italian Riveriera. It featured “light as a feather chiffons, sorbet-toned silks and decadent boudoir laces. These were alongside hints of deep metallic toned beading, delicate floral embroidery and textured stud detail.

Celebrities including Megan Fox, Isabel Lucas and Drew Barrymore are fans.

Meanwhile, One Fell Swoop, renowned for its simple yet highly elegant aesthetic, have also shown at major fashion weeks around  Australia. Celebrity fans wearing the label include Michelle Williams, Natalie Imbruglia and Bambi Northwood-Blythe. Designing for the modern feminine woman,  Nina Ergic and Daniel Romanin debuted their Wedding Capsule collection. The collection was designed specifically created for the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.

These are two strong labels that have been around for over a decade. Both have developed cult-like followings around the world.

Before the show, festival Creative Director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said the runway was going to be “a powerful display of creativity from two of WA’s fashion icons”.

And it was.

From backstage to runway, here’s what we caught, with FLANNEL up first.
