The inaugural Dapper Event hosted by Dappertude in Sydney at the Hotel CBD Hotel last Saturday went off really well, with loads of dapper-information sharing, fun and really fabulous giveaways. It was so good in fact that organiser Johnny Li, the man behind Dappertude, caved into requests to hold another, next time in Melbourne. Yep. He’s taking it on the road! #RoadTrip
#What You Missed- Dapper Giveaways
The whole event was fantstic value! For starters, everyone who attended received a Gentsac goodie bag with products and gift vouchers from local sponsors worth over $150. Then there was the “Best Sock Game” that saw the winner go home with another great prize valued at over $150. On top of this over $1,000 in prizes were given away to the “Best Dressed” including a suit from tailors Institichu. #AreYouKidding?
Johnny Li gave an exclusive styling talk, sharing different methods and tips on accessorizing, including his favourite variations on the pocket square. #LoveThisGuy!
#What You Missed- Dapper Info
Tim and Mayowa from Instituchu demonstrated how a tailored suit should fit. If you weren’t sure what to check for when you’re having a suit made, or haven’t had one made before, you really needed to be there. You’ll never look at a guy in a suit the same way, ever again.
Shira Linka from Gentsac gave heaps of info about grooming and particular products and what they do. There were loads of questions for her about personal grooming routines that help make guys look and feel great.
Next came the Dappetudists: a panel of Instagram bloggers who have teamed up with Dapper Johnny. We got up close and personal with Shaun Birley, The Filtered Fit, Steve Tilly, and Sam Wines. These dapper dudes were happy to talk about how they juggle fashion commitments and blogging with everyday life and work. Our guys loved hearing about what got each of them started and their own particular style preferences. There was heaps of interaction, lots of Q and A’s, and just plain good-natured fun.
Everyone dressed up for the occasion and there was heaps of individual styling on show featuring bow-ties, pocket squares, ties and printed socks. There was a great cameraderie in the room, with lots of chatting continuing during the breaks.
Here’s what we saw….
Kudos to our amazing Cocktail Revolution photographer Alice Sciberras for these great shots! #shutterbug
