Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia
Part 2
When Australia’s biggest week in fashion comes to town, you may be forgiven for thinking that all the fashion action is taking place on the runway. For people watchers, there’s as much going on outside as there is inside. In the words of Bill Cunningham, famed photographer for The New York Times: “The best fashion show is coming to life every day in the streets.” And at this time of year there’s no better place to snap this kind of action than Wilson St, Everleigh in metro Sydney. There and the old tram tracks outside the aging Sydney railway sheds now known as Carriageworks. From these vantage points, our shutterbug Dimitra Korizos captured the best street style moments of the week.
Celebrities, models, buyers, designers, influencers, bloggers, editors and the fashion loving public all turn up here during this single week in May. What they bring with them in spades is a kind of individuality, originality, creativity and self-expression that you’re not going to see on any other street in Australia. Or, the runway.
Here’s our view of the the best street style from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, Part 2. # MBFWA (If you missed it – check out MBFWA Best Street Style Part 1.)
Take a look at the street style from the Melbourne Fashion Festival.
