The Sydney Street Style Scene
Street style is less about fashion trends and more about individuality and personal style. The most exciting examples are to be found in those attending the biggest fashion events around the country and this year’s Afterpay Australian Fashion Week is proof. Photographers were treated to a diverse display of individuality and style.
On top of that, fashion industry insiders aside, it seems that a new generation of fashion lovers is making their presence felt at Sydney’s annual fashion extravaganza. With a full program, it’s refreshing to see new faces attending. It’s taken a couple of years for Australia’s biggest fashion event to bounce back in ticket sales, but finally, its happening. Higher ticket sales means higher numbers of people turning up for us to photograph. Photographer Maree Turk captured the newbies, the regulars and a diverse cross section of attendees between shows. There are fashion celebrities for you to pick out, along with fashion lovers, stylists and aficionados. Take a look at the individuals and the exciting vibe they collectively help create to make Afterpay Australian Fashion Week such a success.
