And along with the catwalks, popping flashbulbs and champagne, fashion festivals offer enormous opportunities for those in the industry. The 2015 Adelaide Fashion Festival‘s first event provided those attending with an insight and potential entry into the enormous marketplace of China with its more than 620 million on-line shoppers, through a visiting delegation from Shandong Province. Fashion Designers, students of fashion and the media were offered a chance to find out some of the what, where and how of breaking into the Chinese market. A panel including some of the province’s most successful designers, textile experts and fashion critics offered insights along with Australian Fashion Label‘s Dean and Melanie Flintoff who have recently entered the Chinese market. Even top Chinese Fashion Blogger Fil Xiao Bai gave a humble insight into how she gained 550,000 followers.
This up close and personal affair afforded an incredible opportunity for those attending to connect with some of the movers and shakers in the Chinese fashion industry.
